Brinsea Products Ltd, based in Weston Super Mare, manufacture innovative egg incubators and brooders for a wide range of bird breeders.
Over the last 12 months, Brinsea has made a significant investment in product development, resulting in them replacing most of their core products and seeing a spike in export sales. Due to such a large percentage of their sales revenue being exports, they needed a website that would support the business in building upon their growing international market. Their existing website was over 7 years old and as well as not being mobile friendly; it didn’t have the technical capabilities to match the objectives of the business. The business, therefore, needed to step change its digital strategy.
SWMAS Manufacturing Specialist, Paul Gilbert met with Ian Pearce and conducted an initial business diagnostic and introduced the Local Manufacturing Advisory Programme (LMAP) funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), designed to support established manufacturing SMEs in the South West to understand and develop their capability and capacity to improve and grow. After consulting a web design specialist, Brinsea was awarded a grant of £2,600 towards the £10,000 strategic website redevelopment.
The ERDF grant has allowed Brinsea to invest in the services of web developers, that have transformed their website to not only have sophisticated e-commerce functions that support their international customers, but to create a resource centre for its customers, offering advice and information in the form of blogs, case studies, reviews and much more, allowing them to continue their growth overseas.
