Associated Dental Products Ltd manufactures a range of high quality products for the dentistry market worldwide.
Keen to apply a more ecologically friendly way of producing its waxes, the company sought support from SWMAS to develop and install some bespoke processing equipment.
“SWMAS took us through a lean manufacturing workshop and introduced us to tools and techniques as we looked to restructure our wax casting line.
“Thanks to some additional funding from SWMAS we were also able to develop specific areas in the production process that reduced our energy costs and increased our efficiency without compromising on the quality of our products.
“This included new technology that enables us to cut wax more quickly and accurately than before,” said Graham Mayoh.
Productivity increased by 300%
Energy costs reduced by 30%
“The new equipment incorporates a bespoke, single-step water cooling process that reduces energy consumption and improves heat conductivity. It has enabled us to make energy savings of up to 30 per cent.
“We have increased production substantially as the wax is cut more quickly. This in turn has seen a rise in our capacity and we have recruited a dedicated shift manager to the wax casting line.
“The new product range has also enabled us to pursue other markets. We now have presence in America and export to 40 countries worldwide. But we are not standing still; we are looking at developing a second production line and hope to expand business further in Asia and South America,” said Graham Mayoh.
