The challenge:
Arco2 is a firm of sustainable architects specialising in low energy and zero carbon architecture. Early expansion led to Ecofab, an innovative construction and prefabrication company, being set up to complement Arco2.
The company reached the tipping point that many small businesses do about how to take their businesses to the next level whilst allowing innovation to flourish, and so contacted SWMAS for advice and support.
SWMAS action:
Through its Product Development Centre (PDC) project, which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) (2007-2013) Convergence Programme, SWMAS took Arco2 & Ecofab through a business coaching programme and provided support as the company sought to achieve ISO accreditation.
Results:
- Achieved ISO 9001 & 14001 UKAS accreditation
- Stronger company culture
The business coaching programme enabled the directors to take a step back and think about how to move the company forward efficiently.
Subsequent work with the team enabled the company to easily identify where there are strengths and weaknesses.
Achieving ISO accreditation has enabled the company to tender for and win bigger contracts.
