Assessment
Delegates will be assessed on a 1 to 1 basis against well defined core management and leadership competencies using a specially developed assessment tool. The results from the assessment will help determine a leadership development plan for the delegates.
Delegates will attend four 1 day learning sessions, consisting of 8 modules, where they will develop management, leadership and manufacturing improvement skills in a collaborative learning environment.
The modules are:
Understanding me – through the creation of a greater level of understanding of our own strengths, weaknesses and uniqueness and building greater clarity of the role of the leader in the workplace, construct a vision and focus for our own development as leaders based on our true potential
Understanding you – achieve a better understanding of the diversity of peoples’ behaviour and attitudes so that we can better engage and motivate them using a wide variety of tools and approaches, including managing and influencing our peers and bosses
Leading and managing – getting a clearer sense of what it means to manage and lead people, how different situations need different approaches, and having a broader range of styles and behaviours to better fit the demands of each scenario
Making teams work – becoming the type of leader who can set the conditions for high performance teamwork, and specifically learn how to use conflict as a positive management approach rather than something to be avoided or feared
Maximising people performance – getting the best out of your people through clear goal-setting, using measures to focus attention and give feedback, providing real support and development for them and enabling an environment in which they can gain genuine feelings of achievement
Communicating – understanding the centrality of communications in leadership and organisational life generally, and developing the skills and approaches to communicate with real purpose and impact in 1 to 1 and group settings alike
Operational Improvement – understanding that the identification and elimination of waste from your business is fundamental to saving money, improving productivity, improving quality and reducing delivery times to customers
Measurement and problem-solving – "what gets measured, gets done". Using measuring and data collection to influence and make decisions in support of problem solving and process improvement
