Nevertheless, we are constantly working to better understand manufacturing and to support government and other organisations to formulate manufacturing policy. This work involves running surveys, conducting interviews and analysing official statistics.
Our longest running research product is the Manufacturing Barometer. Since 2009, this quarterly survey of English manufacturing SMEs has informed both government industrial strategy and the national debate on manufacturing. You can find out more below.
