Board Member

Rex Rozario brings the experience of a career devoted entirely to the printed circuit board industry to the SWMAS board.

Born in Sri Lanka, Rex came to the UK in 1954 where he settled, studied electronics at Loughborough and Brunel and eventually built up Graphic Plc.

Initially a trainee at the Telegraph Condenser Company Ltd, he met Paul Eisler, the inventor of the printed circuit board. Rex was trained by Paul Eisler and became the fledgling expert of flush bonding techniques. He further developed a plated through hole (PTH) capability in 1966.

In 1967, Rex moved to Devon, set up his own electronics business and established himself in Crediton in 1971.

He is a board member of the Federation of the Electronics Industry (FEI), a member of The Air League, the Exeter and Heart of Devon Economic Partnership and the Exeter University Business Forum.

Rex is also a governor of East Devon College and Queen Elizabeth’s Community College, and chairman of the Heart of Devon Enterprise Agency and the Crediton Coastal and Market Town Initiative.

Rex was awarded the OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List in 2001 for his contribution to the electronics industry.
