John Phillipart

Manufacturing Specialist

John Phillipart joins SWMAS as the specialist adviser for Gloucestershire from ArvinMeritor, where he was continuous improvement manager.

John has been a member of the site senior management team, reporting to the European operations director at the company, which manufactures heavy vehicle brakes systems. His remit included continuous improvement, burden and labour reduction programmes, production and industrial engineering, health and safety, environment and training.

Prior to this John was improvement manager at Champion Spark Plug, where he was responsible for the company’s Lean Manufacturing Programme, and process improvement team leader at Castrol UK, where he oversaw dramatic improvements in machine efficiencies and change over times.

John has a BTEC HNC in business studies from Carlett Park College as well as a BA Hons in business studies from Liverpool John Moores University.
